I'm glad this helped you! :yess:

I had such a time doing research. Even in reading the threads, mostly the YPO one, some people didn't post which percentage they were using so it was hard to figure out what worked and what didn't. Then I found out there are 4 kinds of YPO. Ughhhh!

Both work really well. The key is to use the right concentration for each body part.
My face is peeling without using the oil can I still use d oil to peel it off,and what oil is suitable

I need guidance on what to do in order to speed up the peeling process on the sides of my face.
A month ago, I did a lactic acid 50% peeling oil treatment on my face for 1minute before washing it off because it immediately aggravated the festoons and upper eyelids. Thankfully, no PIH. But ,because the eye areas are so thin, the skin started peeling pretty quickly while the rest of the face took an extra week before it showed any sign or peeling/flaking.
2 weeks ago, I did a x2/day YPO treatment for 3 days on my entire body, face included, because they're generally much lighter than lactic acid 50% and it makes my skin glow. It worked out very well but it still wasn't enough to get the sides of my face and forehead to significantly peel.

My options now are:
a) doing another 3 day YPO treatment on the sides of my face and hope for the best. ( this might not be strong enough)

b) do a 50% lactic acid peel on the sides of my face. ( this is a burn risk because I would need it to set on my face ,for at least 2 minutes, which might not be possible due to skin sensativity.

c) do 1 day YPO(10min), next day lactic acid 50%(30secs to 1 minute) , following day YPO(10mins). (sounds crazy but I've done this before to get rid of some lite lactic acid and kojic acid burns on my chest/stomach back in December). Of course, I would cut the times down depending on how my skin feels. However, lactic acid still has that burn risk.

d) take time and exfoliate with only kojic acid soap and Retin A ( I know this will work ,but it will be slow; like another month)

e) wait another month before I apply anymore acids to my face.

Am I missing any other options? At this point, I'm leaning more towards option (c) because it has the potential to get me the fastest and most effective results.

Parts of my facial sides have peeled in patches. The highlighted area will be very sensitive to any acid I put on it. Its not sensitive now because I use hydrocortisone and antibiotic ointments(neosporin); but even kojic acid causes it to flare up.

@tartryer I would go with e) wait another month before applying anymore acids.

That genetic makeup commonly comes out in medium to darker skin types it is very distinctive. Is there a particular reason you used 50% lactic are you experienced with this strength ? Go very careful with how you administer your chemical peels as it can make matters much much worse for you. Maybe prep your skin with Tretinoin and HQ first for a few weeks before you consider another peel. Or alternate with Tretinoin (retina) with your neosporin ?
I’ve had this in the past and the best way I kept it at bay was retin a and a mild steroid.

Oh and how could I forget make sure you either practice sun avoidance or SPF every day.

Regarding peeling oils would you guys say YPO was better than green ? I had such a regressive experience a year ago with green oil it peeled a lovely even shade then went dark! Before then returning back to my original colour… not to mention it was super sensitive so bathing was fun after it peeled 😭

Thanks. I've been using Tretinoin about 4 to 5 times a week for several months.
I usually use a 50% lactic acid gel with bunch of extracts, teas, and other acids mixed in. This time, I used a medical strength 50% lactic acid liquid where the only other ingredient was deiniozed water. The liquid worked great for my body but I now know its too strong for my face and neck. I also try to avoid using HQ on my face because it causes it to lighten too quick. I've decided against doing another chemical peel but I did start using my Amlactin 15% lactic acid lotion. I feel the best way to combat this is to let my face finish peeling. If it doesn't show any signs of peeling in 2weeks, I'm going to do a lactic acid 50% gel peel. Neosporn+Hydrocortisone is the only reason I didn't get PIH. lol

@tartryer ya don't say ....... ;). I was waiting to hear how this turned out for you, and I'm BEYOND happy you decided to wait it out. You will have better results if you give your skin enough time to peel after using a peel. Thats the purpose of applying it, so let it be for now. You know what happens when your too aggressive with acids.....this isn't your first rodeo 😊

I have rode that burnt bull more times than I will admit. I also need to stop using hydrocortisone as my lifesaver against pih. A lot of those reddened and lightened areas would have resulted in pih if I didn't use hydrocortisone. The trade off for not burning is overly lightened spots and areas that should have peeled but didn’t. I’m suspecting hydrocortisone of slowing down my skins response to the peeling process. I think that’s also the cause for the over moisturizing issues I had a while back. Hydrocortisone is causing my skin to retain water. I know Neosporin and antibiotic ointments work too but they don’t work as fast as hydrocortisone. Hydrocortisone almost immediately stops irritation but I’m now seeing the side effects :ROFLMAO:
