Have anyone used a hair mask?

Hi everyone,

I have come across some hair masks while shopping yesterday and was unsure whether to buy one or not. Can somebody pls explain the importance of a hair mask and is it necessary in a hair care regime?

Does it work the same way as a conditioner? And should the mask be applied all over the hair including the scalp??

thanks in advance,
Pumi.

Yes, I use Nioxin- intensive therapy hydrating hair masque. What I do is wash my hair with shampoo first and instead of using my normal conditioner I put the hair masque all over my hair, leave it in for about 3-5minutes, then rinse. I don't know how important it is to use but, my stylist recommended it for my dry hair. I use it about once a week. It did make a difference in my hair. I noticed it made my hair a lot softer, and shiner. It is definitely not dry like it was before. So I would recommend it.

Not very interested in natural hair masks as they seem to be too messy.

I love Kerestase's masks. It leaves my hair super silky without being heavy. The jar is a bit expensive, but I swear it regenerates itself in the jar. I have had the same jar for almost a year and it seems like I am just beginning to make a dent.
I love hair masks....I use the neutrogena moisture mask. It comes in a jar and it really works. I have dry hair at times and this does the trick. I take 20 mins with condition. Its a good repair to for the weekly damage that hair gets. It makes my hair extremely soft. Its for any types of hair too.

Thanks for your reply, dear. Do you have to apply the mask on the whole head including the scalp or only to the hair strands?
Hair mask, I have tried several. Recently Tresemme Smoothing masque. Brilliant results. Hair soo soft and silky and no knots. With the Tresemme Smoothing masque you need to apply all over, scalp and the hair strand.

Thanks for repying Maha. I like Tresemme brand. At one time, I was using their moisture rich shampoo and conditioner and they worked wonderfully for dry hair. I will definitely check the masque. For the moment, I am using hair oil as hair treatment but the hair mask u suggested sounds gr8

Cheers.

What oil do you use? I use Olive oil, pumpkin oil and also black seed oil.
Though I haven't really oiled my hair in age!
Also I use this treatment with olive oil and methi seed.

No problem at all, pumi. I apply it to all of my hair more concentrated on my ends. I lightly rub it on my scalp too because I have a dry hair and scalp. I'm sure it wouldnt hurt. One of the ingredients I noticed for sure in it was olive oil which helps retain moisture.
BTW, where can i find just the oils at? I have ahard time finding these?

I use almond oil and sometimes olive oil. I normally oil my hair once a week. This helps condition my dry hair and also helps it to grow. How do you use methi seed on hair Maha? I heard it is good for hair loss but never tried it myself.

You can buy it from supermarket or your local chemist, daski.

Have any of you used Moroccan Oil for your hair? I have heard that it makes the hair silky & protects it from heat-styling, but have not tried it yet.

I used John Frieda- made my hair sooo soft.

Hi, Fawnie

I've heard some good reviews on moroccan oil here on SCT but dunno where I can buy it from UK. Any idea? I would really love to try it.
Thanks.

Almond oil? I should try that does almond oil help with hair growth?. I also use Coconut oil and pumpkin oil. With the methi seed I forgot how to prepare it (I'll ask my sister). I know that you have to put the methi seed in oilve oil and let it be for two days then after two days you can start to use it, but you have to apply it before you go to shower and keep it on for 30 mins. But like I said I'll ask my sister.
