Good diet , sun protection, moisturize, in winter have a humidifier, get lots of sleep, at least 8 hours a night. An most of all, never smoke.
A pumice stone, exfolliant, followed by moisturizer done regularly will get rid of rough skin.

You can also try this.

1. Get lots of fresh air but avoid prolonged exposure to wind and cold.

2. Avoid the sun and tanning beds. The damage done by ultraviolet rays is long lasting and cannot be reversed.

3. Always wear sunglasses to avoid squinting.

4. Try to achieve a well-balanced life and reduce stress.

5. Exfoliate twice a week to rid your skin of dead cells.

6. Develop a skin care routine for your particular skin type.

For one thing, you got to drink alot of water and get good sleep. My boyfriend has what's called Adult Acne and it's the worst kind you can get! He uses this certain kind of lotion and he's never looked better (his skin is extremely sensitive to EVERYTHING!). It absorbs right into the skin. I actually tested it out this month because of my period. I've never used it around that time but this month I decided to test it out and see what it can do for my face. I usually break out around that time every month. Well, this time I used it on my entire face after my showers and I didn't get ONE single breakout so now I know that it REALLY works well.
