Hi All,

I am person who prefer to use home remedy rather than a product. My skin was before Oily but now a days it seems a bit dry or normal..here goes my circulium:

I wash my face with a Face wash in the morning.
During day some time i wash my face with water.
In the evening after i go home wash my face again with face wash.
Then i apply tomato for 20 minutes( as i have open pores/hyper pigmenttaion marks ) [ I have heard tomato is the best toner].
Then i apply ice..( as ice also closes the pores)
Then I apply honey while sleeping.
Twice or thrice a week i use a home made scrub:scrub is made of gram flour+curd+honey+milk+cream+mustard oil. Then apply daily circullium
Some times in a week i apply curds and also some fruits.

My queries are:
1. The steps i am following is it correct. It wont cause a adverse effect on my skin. After immediately applying tomato and washing my face i have some open pores which are not to be seen normally..but after some time those pores are not seen
Please suggest me if i am write.
2. Can any one suggest me best home made cleanser.
3. How many days a week a scrub can be used.

Hi Ankita,

I am very much interested in homemade remedy myself. I know tomato is very good for oily skin. If you apply tomato paste on your face for 15mins and wash it off after , it helps absorb all the oiliness and also dries pimples. I do this twice a week because if you apply tomato paste/mask daily, it can be overdrying. Immediately, apply a good moisturer after washing face. On alternate days, use curd as a mask. I heard it is very moisturising. Also, use a face scrub once or twice a week.
Hope this helps.
It sounds like you're on the right track
Depending on what you're using for a scrub - you might be able to use it daily, though I suspect you won't need to use a scrub more than 2-3 times per week.

You can make a great cleanser/mask/scrub with oatmeal & milk. Crush the oatmeal up a bit (or toss it in the food processor for a few seconds) and add milk to make a paste. You could also add a bit of sugar or baking soda to your cleanser, for a gentle scrub. There are also some fruits that you can add to your daily routine that contain alpha hydroxy acids - apples, grapes, citrus fruits, etc. You can do a quick google search for alpha hydroxy in fruit and should come up with a great list.

Pineapple also makes a good face mask. Just take a chunk and smear it all over your face.

I saw it on The Doctors so it must be true.
Your routine seems too acidic for my skin; just wondering, doesn't the honey get all over your pillow case. Does the honey solidify overnight? how does your skin feel?
Hi
Wow that sounds great! I would be licking my face!

I'm in USA and not sure what curd is....is it something like cheese curd?

I have heard that Manuka Honey is very beneficial and has strong antibiotic properties.Manuka Honey

Here are some recipes for Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream, which is ground nuts and yeast....very effective and gentle for all skins:http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum...=5981&start=50

oops! The Dr H cleansing cream does NOT contain yeast! It smells yeasty though. It has ground almonds, witch hazel, wheat germ oil, peanut oil and a lot of other yummy natural ingredients!

Wow that sounds great! I would be licking my face!
And what about the cat? I wouldn't risk any of these sweet potions with an animal anywhere around me when I'm sleeping!

I'm visualizing this! Lotus would be all over me.

Hi Fawnie,

Curd is non-flavoured yogurt.
