Jenap, do not despair! 52 is by no means elderly!!
I think you could get lovely results using just a DIY Vitamin C Serum!!
If you can obtain some L-ascorbic acid and some distilled water you can make some very easily and cheaply. If you can get some of the other ingredients, you will have a nice serum that improves your skin from Day 1.

There are many recipes, according to what ingredients you can obtain.

Thanks for your kind thoughts! I did look around high and low for L-ascorbic acid in skinactive and ncnpros but to no avail! At last I was just lucky I found in Bulkactive and has placed an order. Soon it will be ready for my mixing! I am excited to try your version of Vit C serum. Wish to get outstanding results. Luv all of you for sharing good stuff!

to have a healthy glowing and smooth skin use this recipe

Blend 4 - 5 leafs of fresh mint.
Peel and deseed the cucumber.
Add mint leaves to the cucumber to make a puree.
Beat egg white and keep it separate, then add this egg white to the cucumber mixture.
Apply this evenly on your face for 20 minutes and then rinse it with water and pat it dry.

I love applying my homemade body oil in the mornings after getting out of the shower. Organic Rose Hip Seed Oil mixed with Organic Avocado Oil and a few drops of Cafe Vienna fragrance oil. Almost a nutty coffee smell like you just stepped into a quaint little coffee shop.

Deep Clean Heat mask!

youll need:
wash cloth
microwave
essential oils(such as chamomile,rosemary,tea tree)
base oils(jojoba, sweet almond, hemp, grape seed)
granules of jojoba, sugar, any grainy exfoliate(if you have acne dont do this step, but you will need milk instead!)
water

optional:
any herbs
moisturizer

Wet the washcloth, and fold once then add selective oils and herbs on the wash cloth. place in microwave for 35-55 seconds until very warm. remove from microwave and you want to lay the wash cloth down turned to your face. be sure the cloth isnt to hot for your skin! now lay down and relax for 3-5 min

*if you have acne skip this paragraph
(exfoliating/deep clean part)your pores should be open and if needed, you can now take your exfoliate and make a paste out of it with honey and a base oil(sweet almond, olive) and gently gently massage the mix around your skin making sure to cover all areas well. rinse face with luke warm water.

*if you have acne do this!
massage face with warm milk and then rinse(use microwave or stove to heat milk slightly).

continuing...

place towel with oils back into microwave, "sprinkle" a little water if washcloth has became dry, then warm washcloth up for 35-55 seconds. place back on face for 2 min and rinse with cold water.

massage skin. moisturize if you'd like

if anyone else trys this tell us how you like it

Hello. U are a great believer in organic skin care. Do u rely 100% on DIY organic skincare? Perhaps, combination of 2 schools of thought ? If so, how often do u do the DIY organic skincare? I have this problem using DIY org sc. Each time using fruit acid my skin tends to bleach in patches. Besides, the results of DIY org sc is slow compare to the real commercialised skincare I believe? What is your experience. Can u shade some light for the interest of others too. Thank u. But u do look pretty. How long have u been using organic skincare.

hiya =)

i use natural/organic everyday besides that i do use retin a and will be dong my 2end tca peel soon. i have great results with organic care with the use of oils, clay, fruit acids and proteins.
im not so sure that commercial products work faster.. im finding stuff like proteins and the vitamin c serum work fantastically and had very fast results, same with rosehip seed oil, really fast acting oil. fruit acids are another medium that work instantly and really effectivly.

you skin bleaches in patches? hm well for me that is unheard of and sry that is happening, maybe you could try a mild one like blueberry, strawberry, or raspberry

Thanks for your generosity. But comparatively, how effective is homemade skin care to DIY chemical product ( or commercial) skin care. I am an elderly women at 52 and desperate for quick result. I need urgent attention and effective remedy to aging skin. I cannot afford to do trial and error method and long approach. I am contemplated with them. Hopefully, you can share with me your experience. Thanking in advance.

what fawnie said! at 52 you are by no means elderly! unless, of course, you're defining elderly aswise from experience and age. i'm 56 and may be becoming elderly by that definition (i hope), but nowhere near old!!!

hah, in the past couple of weeks i've gotten a nose piercing, red streaks in my hair, gone hiking and mountain biking and totally left my 21-year-old son in the dust, done a ton of the DIY skin care recipes on this forum, and am feeling as i did at 40, which was great! still procrastinating on the tca peel, but am gonna do it tomorrow
don't feel old, instead age in reverse! you've got all the support you could ever ask for on this forum, with hundreds of years of collective wisdom and experience. all the best!!!

I like your spirit Paillo! Thanks for your motivation talk. I shall always remember that. I have slow down my golf games to reduce exposure to the sun but increase my gym activities...20 mins of cardio and 20 mins of wt exercises. hopefully in 6 months time I shall slim down to younger body! Haa..ha...But I need more convincing from members who have been trying DIY organic skincare that they are as effective as commercial skincare before trying them all out. I am too confused with too many commercial promotions skincare out there! And desperate for fast and outstanding results. So sorry if I sound too demanding.

Jenap, please don't say 52 is elderly! I'm 55 and I don't want to think of anyone near my age as being elderly. I also have abused my skin due to too much time in the sun hiking, swimming, etc., plus trying to get a tan when I was a teenager. I've tried all kinds of expensive commercial products, and even though I've only been on this site for a few months and using some of the DIY products, I can tell you that my skin is much improved already. This doesn't mean that you have to give up all commercial skincare products, but you can try the DIY products and see what works. The Vitamin C serum in particular has given me good results in just a couple of months. Just be sure to always wear sunscreen! Also, remember that we can't reverse years of damage in a few weeks, so be patient.

Thanks for your respond but u have yet to answer my question. How long have u been using organic DIY skincare? How soon will one see outstanding results? Another thing, perhaps you are younger and as such your skin respond faster than matured skin ? I am making studies as to which type of skincare is most effective : organic DIy or other commercial skincare. Perhaps, I shall try various skincare available in the market especially recommended by our members.

Terrific Eye Cream Before bed apply unscented castor oil around your eyes. Plastic surgeons use this on their patients after surgery!
I have questions about this one??? Is castor oil really okay to leave on the skin??? It's in my OCM, but to leave on??

Any thoughts???
