a few weeks ago i spend 200 buck in skincare acne products.

i was using
Neostrata 8% AHA toner
colloidal silver 20PPM
Olay thermal polisher
olay facial cloth scrubs (deep cleaning)
some 8% sulfur acne cream
clearasil 5% BP cream
emu oil
and the list goes on. i though this would kill my acne for sure but it just make it worse and i got darker pigmentation. so i only use the facial cloth,s glycolic toner and the BP cream. i dont use a moisture cause they tend to be too oily or too drying so i just leave my face as is or slap on some aloe vera gel to keep my face moist.

try not to use more them 5 different products 2x a day. if you have normal skin you probably only need a good cleaner and moisturizer. if you got skin problem then you still need to clean and moistureize the skin but you could consider a toner (to open up the pores and exfoliate the skin) and a medicated treatment. but dont mess with to may different meds unless you got the blessing from your doctor.

Hello,
Sorry if I come off as nosy here, just interested because your products are very close to mine,do you cleanse with just the toner? or water and a cloth?

Just a cotton ball and the toner (witch hazel or rosewater). I wash / exfoliate my face when I shower w/ the rest of my body, and since I don't get dirty at night (
) I'm assuming that my face is still just as clean when I wake up. If I work out in the morning, then again, morning shower = washing whole body. No special session needed.

Trisha,

I used to be a facial cleanser/skin care junky and used to wash my face with two different acne-fighting cleansers though I have never suffered from severe acne. I’ve also gotten in the habit of using body lotions on my face, which I know is bad for my skin; but I get severely dry skin in the colder months and I have not found an alternative.

These days, I use either BiorÃa9 Pore Unclogging scrub (have for years) or Noxema Original Deep Cleansing Cream in the shower, depending on how “dirty” I think my skin feels. Regardless of which product I use, I’ve always had to put lotion on my face as soon as I step out of the shower. If I don’t, my skin gets tight and uncomfortable within the first few minutes. I really like Nivea Soft body face and hand cream, it’s light, not too greasy, and keeps my skin moist. When I don’t have this, I use either Aveeno Original (my go-to lotion for my psoriasis/severe dry skin) or St. Ives Intensive Healing.

So I guess that puts me at 2 products a day.

I use a cleanser, moisturizer and spf in the day.

At night I use a cleanser, sometimes a scrub after, then a moisturizer and vitamin e oil.

I will be adding retin a to the mix next weekend. i also do the occasional mandelic peel.

In what order do you use the c serum and lactic acid lotion? I use RA at night and vit c serum first before anything else in the morning, but was not sure if i could use the lactic acid on the same day as either of these and when in the order of things to use it?

A.M. - Microfiber, some type of oil (argan, jojoba, etc.) with my HA serum, then Vanicream

P.M. Cleanser, C-Serum with HA serum, then Vanicream or Cerave lotion. Several nights of the week I skip these and apply my Retin A first. If I need to buffer I'll put on lotion right before bed.
