There is no benefit to using SPF protection at night or when going to bed. So economically speaking you may want to use a different moisturizer at night.

I had a moisturizer from Prescriptives that had an SPF in it....the lady told me it should HURT, but would rather I use one without SPF at night. So if it doesn't break you out....then I don't see the harm.

I could be wrong or maybe the sales lady was just trying to sell more more stuff - I don't know.

its best to keep things simple when it comes to your skin. the less chemicals you use, the better. sunscreen chemicals are good to protect against the sun but they are generally not healthy for your skin.

I agree....less is more most of the time. You obviously don't need sunscreen protection when you sleep....so if you could find a different gentle moisturizer for nighttime....you might be better off.

I use Olay Complete All day Moisture with SPF 15 for oily skin. It's so light!!
and goes on so smooth. Doesnt leave a shine or white mask like others ive tried that left me like a greaseball. I use it during the day AND at night because its got vitamin C and E. It really makes a difference on my skin.

I agree that spf shouldn't be used at night. I hear that your skin rejuvinates itself at night so anything w/antioxidants and rejuvinating properties is what should be used at night. Cleansing is also very important to keep you pores clean and to help prevent breakouts.

Personally I dont even like to have any sort of product on my face at night. I think thats the only real time your skin has a chance to breathe and heal itself.

I just like to use a gentle cleanser before going to sleep. Just have to make sure it is not drying.

You know...I should try that. Nothing on at night. But I've been doing the opposite....trying to moisturize at night and no moisturizer on in morning...cuz I'm darn oily. Wonder if I switch it up? Thanks for the reminder....I mean if somone is ultra dry....then a nighttime moisturizer is a must...otherwise you feel all tight and icky. Thanks.

Hey Kelly you should look into that Kimberly Sayer line I told you about. They have a light weight moisturizer for oily/acneic skin

To use sugar as an exfoliator? The sugar packets from Starbucks are the best. (Not the brown raw sugar packs or the low cal ones) Their regular sugar cane sugar in the white packette. The grains are very fine and non abrasive. I mix a pack in with my clenaser (I use Epicuren Gelle Cleanser) and scrub gently. It leaves my face super soft.

Wow....good idea...or I wonder if it would be a good add to a body cleanser as a body scrub....thanks!

That white sugar thing seems like a nice idea- but worries me as I thought bactria loooove to eat sugar- its what makes them grow, and by using the sugar, even though it rinses off, there would still be something left -right? and if there is, would your skin not be more prone to spots? Has anyone else any feedback from using sugar?
I use rice powder- Dermalogica use it for their daily exfoliator, but if I do find it unbranded (and cheaper!) then I will snap it up elsewhere- this is what I swear by- all products with rice in seem to work well with my skin.
