Okay so I wanted to get other people's opinion or someone who could help me figure out what kind of acne I have.. or whatever it is.
I went to a dermatologist and he mostly hurried me out of his office and wasnt helpful at all , basically telling me my acne was fine and to keep taking the prescribed minocyclin.. when I asked about acne scars aka the purple marks on my face he pretty much threw a sample tube of tri-luma at me... and then left. Even the assistant tried to help me more with my face.

So to describe my acne:
Basically a pimple will start forming. I do the norm, wash my face as usual. I leave my pimple alone. It just gets worse and worse red colored as usual and then if I leave it alone it becomes a purple bump under my skin. It feels like a hard lump. I have these all over the sides of my face. But if I pop the pimple there is no bump it just becomes a purple acne scar. So either way it leaves a purple scar with or without the bump.

What I want to know is whats up with the bumps?
I thought that if you leave a pimple alone it would heal itself? Do you only get scars when you squeeze/pick your acne right?
I would add pictures but I do not have sufficient posts..

Hopefully I dont seem to self-pitying. I just want to know whats wrong with my face. I feel I have severe acne .. I already have so many scars.

All i can really suggest is never to touch acne spots, or bumps under the skin. I had bumps on my skins and always used to pick them, used to put so much effort in making it smaller(using a pin to burst it, squeezing the crap out of it), just left me with gigantic scabs and bruses from my nail mark on my face.

All i can suggest is leave it alone, and use a face wash which contain beads used for black heads. This removes black heads but also can remove "stuck" dirt on your skin. As i am a new member, i cant linky to any website, but there are gels out there that reduce redness.

I suggest using the facewash in the morning, after that, apply moisturizer. Moisturizer i would recommend is "clean and clear" which also attacks spots(says on the label). Eat healthy during the day(fruit water etc) as this takes into a large account of skin. Evening, face wash and apply redness cream. Repeat, and you should be ok.

I know several people who have used it and it worked great for them.

Sounds like you have cystic acne. Just what I used to have. First suggestion, definitley switch derms! There are many Acne Products to use, and many of them are good, just depends on how your skin accepts the treatment. Minocycline is good, but does have some side effects.

Ei, never use any products that have alcohol as an ingredient! It will overstimulate the production of oil. Also avoid products with mineral oil. I will clog your pores, making it hard for your pores to breath, so it will grow bigger, and develop black heads and pimples!
