hi... does anyone know of anything that would help or get rid of nasal-labial fold lines? Now I have turned 30 they seem to becoming more and more prominant... I dont want surgery to be the only answer (yet I suspect it is!), if anyone has any ideas or tips I would be truly, truly grateful! lx

Just a suggestion sure other people will be able to give you some good advice on products, Im still learning about skin care as I go along, Also steaming your face, exfoliating, good diet, vitamins and minerals and lots and lots of water!! Dermatological do anti aging line too, depending on your skin type of course, good luck with it yeah!! Unfortunalty I have just turned 30 and your face does change just look after it and you will see an improvment, Read other people posts too may give you some useful information as well!! There are some great reviews on make up alley too so check that out before buying anything, unfortuntaly a lot of skin care creams are crap out there, and anti aging is not only about creams but life style as well!! sure other people will give you plenty of advice too, Iv ordered myself some Green Cream Retinol 0.3 and Is Clinical Youth Serum and I also love using my Clinique moisture splurge for my very skin, also Vit c creams and Vit e with antixodent in it seems to be nice on my very dry skin at mo!! Spa treatments I also find are great as well!! Unfortunatly as well no product works straight away so need to stick with same thing as well before it may start working on your skin. Face excersises are meant to be too but Good Luck with it anyway and let us know if it works!!

Hi there

I too have this problem and have been using a hand held non surgical facelift for the past 18 months. My jowls and nasal labial fold lines along with my under eye bags have improved beyond my expectations. It's just like traking your face to the gym. It takes 30 mins per day and can be done whilst reading, watching TV even in the bath, my favourite place. I'm 54 and no longer have botox which i tried 3 years ago and ended up looking like Dr Spock!! My eyebrows and lids have opened up like back in my 30s! I used to have CASI which is a good alternative but at £50 each month, after an intital £500 for 12 session starter i could no longer afford it. This costs £179 but thats it. It uses water to generate the pull needed, and little pads that come with it that will last up to a year and then only £12 for another years worth. Oh and one small battery on average a month. It comes with a 90 days full money back guarantee and if i tell you next to none come back you will see that this little gadget really does work. It recently won best Anti-ageing gadget of the year 2008 in a national mag!! Which country are you in?

Here's some before/after pics of ppl who have done the FlexEffect exercises and have gotten rid of the nasolabial fold lines:

Facial Exercise: FlexEffectÂae Before and After Photos

Take a look at some of the other photos - they are pretty impressive. I have been doing them since Aug 08 and love them!
What results have you seen fawnie -- what part of your face were you targetting (sorry my computer is going nutso -- I ve lost some punctuation)

HI Mari

Well, for starters...

My upper eyelids are not hooded any longer.
The undereye area is tighter and not baggy.
My cheeks are higher and rounder.
My nasolabial fold lines are gone, just a faint line on either side of my mouth, not a deep groove.
My jawline is getting more defined and my neck (the hardest to treat) is getting less crepe-y.

And that's just since Aug - five months! It really takes commitment - you aren't going to get results with just a hit or miss attitude - and you have to give it time. Everyone's results vary, but the eye exercise I mentioned will give you an idea how effective exercise can be - the eyes are the easiest and first to show improvement. Try it! It has no side effects and is free.

thanks fawnie.. that sounds brilliant too! Id heard of facial exercises but had read that they can make the wrinkles worse- that seemed to make sense as you're wrinkling up the skin whilst doing them so I never looked into it any further. But the results on that site say different with conviction- the before and afters are amazing!

Did you purchase the DVD from that site or can you get it else where? lx

Hi fairygirl!

I bought the book, DVD and CD from that site. It's the only place I know of that sells it. You could look around eBay though. IMO you really need the DVD which shows you where to place your fingers and how much to grab. The book just gives history, rationale and advanced exercises. The CD is nice for queing you when you start learning to do the exercises, but as you get comfortable with the program, you don't need the CD any longer.

I believe you can just order the DVD alone. She is coming out with a newer program soon, which just builds upon the previous program.''

Hope this helps you in some way. The website there and forum can also answer more of your questions!!! Good luck and I'm glad you are interested!

yes yes tell us tinge!

Fairy Girl if you arent too scared of jabs then dermal fillers might be an idea as they fill up the creases instantly and last 6-12 months. i havent tried them but sometimes i get tempted to! but friends who have swear by them. worth a shot.

but as you will see there are so many different options you have to try a few and stick with them for a while before finding the right thing for you.

good luck and keep us posted with your regimen.

Fawnie,
Are you doing all 40 exercises every day. I got my DVD and book, I've started out by doing the 14 exercises on the DVD, I wish all 40 were on the DVD, I'm more of a visual person, but I'm going to start incorporating the rest of the exercises into my routine. I really like Deb, the DVD is really easy to follow for the 14 exercises.

Oh no - not all 40 anymore! At first i did them all faithfully, but now i pared it down to a few and some of the Ageless ones. The more Bone Massage I do, the less of the others I need really. It's quite astounding! And the results have shown up so quickly- like in a couple days!

But if you are just starting, yes do as many as you can. The CD is nice...you can look at the book and listen and that way memorize them. It's a good way to learn.

Yea, I agree on the search party for twinge. The only proven way to get rid of nasal folds is with a filler. There are several out there and I have used two -Restylne & (another one that is now off the market due to funding). I love it. It is not as bad as you may think. I was very scared the first time but now I would not go without. The great thing is it is very suttle and no one is the wiser. The cost is a little high being $400-$500 but mine lasts for about 6-7 months so I budget for it. I am looking at another one that is suppose to last longer, I will have to find the name and let you know.
