Hi,

compliments on the new look! Makes we want to come back more often

Here's hoping you can help me. I want to scent my serums, but would prefer something other than essential oils. My beautician used a massage oil yesterday, which smellt so good I could have eaten it. It's a pomegranate oil mixture, but to me it smelt like there was also cherry in there. Do any of you know of a pomegranate or cherry (or anything going in that direction) scent/oil that I can put into my potions without having any scruples?

thesage.com carries glorious scents...but they don't ship overseas

You'll need to ask a US based friend to ship it to you.

... Or use a mail forwarding service like http://www.myus.com/ or http://www.usa2me.com
It's very easy to use. The shop simply sends it to the mail forwarding service and once they received it they forward the parcel to you. You usually only have to pay the regular shipping cost + a small handling fee.

On a slightly different topic, I've used MyUS and they're terrible. Extremely expensive. Best to try something like Shopaholiques or Parceliton :)

Really? Good to know that then. I've never used MyUS but i do have experience with a mail forwarder in Japan which i regularly use.
There are tons of other mail forwarders to choose from, better to read some reviews before choosing one.

Wow, they have lovely sounding smells. I wish I could order right away, but will wait till my hubby is in the States again. It doesn't specifically say that you can use them for skin care products, and I couldn't find an email address to ask them, but I guess if it says cosmetic grade then it will be okay to use. I found these here in Germany: http://www.behawe.com/index.php?product=5918&lang=1 Do they sound like an alternative in the meantime? Not as spectacular, but hopefully ok.

Great suggestion Desertskin. When you do something like this..........how much time does it take for one to receive their order??

Hi LauraB,

thanks for the offer, that's really sweet of you
I've found a shop here in Germany that sells fragrance oils. I will order a few samples from them, to see how my skin takes to it. Should I not run into any problems, then I would love to take you up on your offer and order together with you. Do you use the oils in your facial creams and serums?

I have bought allergen free fragrance oils from another UK seller from e-bay and they were so and so. It's hard to find a nice fragrance oil that covers nice without upping the dosage a lot, you know fragrances are a mix of (unknown) chemicals anyway. Now I'm waiting for my fragrance oil to arrive from bulkoils.com. They claim that their oils are strong and do not need more than 1-2%. They do ship international.

Has anyone of you managed to figure out what kind of oils they use in Jasons 98% Aloe Vera Gel; it is very nice and fresh. It would make a great fragrance for any cream or lotion too.

Well , i don't have any experience with US mailing forwarders but in Japan, after the shop has shipped the parcel it usually gets at the mail forwarder within 2 days. Then it takes 1 or 2 days for the mail forwarder to handle and forward the parcel to my address. Most mail forwarders offer several shipping methods, express mail, priority mail, first class mail etc. so it depends on the shipping method you choose how long it will take to arrive. I always go for express mail because it offers track&trace.
Japan to Thailand;
2 days from shop to mail forwarder, 1 to 2 days for handling and forwarding, approx. 4 days for express mail to Thailand. So in total just over a week.

Hi unhambi - just let me know, they have many oils, butters and other items that i have found to be indispensable when it comes to DIY.
