I have used obagi. They are good products but very expensive.Hello all,
Has anyone used Obagi?
Yes, and it is wonderful. Buy the Action Moisturizer to go along with it because your skin will be red, dry, and flakey for about 3 weeks. This is a good thing because the System is peeling off your wrinkled skin. After 6 weeks, you will look many years younger. Your wrinkles will be almost all gone, your pores will be smaller and your skin will be firmer. I have been using the product for 5 years and I look twenty years younger than my actual age. Use the product every other day for about a week or so until your skin gets used to it. I use the Sunfader every day to lighten dark spots and it also has sunscreen protection so new spots don't form.Hello all,

My plastic surgeon recommended Obagi Nu-Derm when I asked him for lazer resurfacing. It took away all of my wrinkles and firmed my sagging skin and I did not need the lazer resurfacing after using the System. I am 64 and now look 44. Buy the Action Moisturizer to use with the System and only use the System every other day until your skin gets used to it. Use the Sunfader every day to get rid of brown spots and protect your skin, it has sunscreen in it. The peeling isn't that bad. You can still wear make up as long as you use a moisturizer with it. The peeling will stop in about 3 weeks and your skin will look amazing in about 6 weeks when the new skin growns in without any wrinkles. Not sure which system yet. My plastic surgeon recommended the products, but we did not discuss in depth. I wanted to do some research first. It will probabaly by the Nu-Derm. My concern is excessive flaking. How bad was it? I work full-time and don't want to look hideous.
Hi Emily,I was going to order the starter kit for Obagi Nu-Derm until I read that the side effects are red and flaky skin, swollen capillaries to the point where they seemed ready to burst and a lot of pain and itching. Apparently this lasted for at least 3 weeks.
Can you share any side effects you have had using the system? I am a really chicken when it comes to this stuff and would be very grateful for any feedback from others before I order it.
Thanks so much,
Gymrat, I just purchased this today after seeing my esthetician. She really believed that my skin would benefit from this system so I'm in! I've got the Retin A on it's way from ADC already so I didn't buy it ($90). But I bought the rest of the system that comes in the box. My esthetician wants to do a peel on me first before starting the system. What have your results been? What did you think? Thanks for the help.I used Obagi for about 6 months. After stopping, I started using a basic face wash, vit C, and Retin A. After stopping the use of Obagi you should not have any problems adjusting to other products. I also didn't have any swollen capillaries. Just red sensitive skin.
But honestly speaking I think it is a waste of money. I have gotten better results by using Vit C, RA and TCA peels from time to time.
What are you trying to achieve? Skin tone, acne, acne scars, fine lines?Gymrat, I just purchased this today after seeing my esthetician. All of the above, skin tone, acne, acne scars, fine lines! Just from reading this board and doing a little research I have realized that there alternatives that are just as effective. I guess I got sold into the notion that my esthetician was going to do treatments in the office to help this along gratis. I see her on Wed for a peel before I start the Obagi. I've tried so many things over the course of my adulthood I figure what the heck?! Thanks though for the heads up. Of course they want to keep you on the program. It's expensive and the same ingredients can be bought for a lot less. But like I said I'm desperate... for now. What are you trying to achieve? Skin tone, acne, acne scars, fine lines?
I used it trying to clear up some scarring and hyperpigmentation. It works. But I found doing microderms, and TCA works just as well, and with less steps. Obagi is a nice line so I am not knocking it by any means, but there are definately other ways to achieve the results you get when using Obagi and for a much cheaper price tag. Also, do not buy into the fact that once you start with Obagi you cannot stop using it. That is so not true. So if they try to tell you that......... it's![]()
If you have bought all of your stuff already, use it. You may have great results by doing so. Everyone is different, and everyones expectations are different. Just know, if this doesn't work for you there are other options out there.![]()
