Oily skin

Hi,

I am after some advice please. I am nearly 33 & have the facial skin of a 17 year old. Spotty & very very greasy. I tend to wash in just soap & water, & only use natural moisturising lotion on my face.
I have never really had a strict routine, I wash my face morning & night & moisturise after. I really want to sort my skin out, can anyone recommend the best things to use without costing the earth?
Thanks x

Hi tree123, I found these recommendations for oily skin on Ayurvediccure which are simple things you can do every day to help with your oily skin.

1. Keep a bowl of water in the fridge and splash this cold water on your face 3-4 times a day.Cold water will not only leave you feeling refreshed but will also tighten the pores.

2. Follow up the cleanser with an astringent as this will remove all excess oil

3. Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water each day.Water helps flush out toxins from the body.

4. Use an exfoliant twice a week. These skin scrub products contains little granules that, when used with a small brush, provide deep cleansing.

Hope this helps,

Tree, try using a cleanser formulated for Oily skin instead of soap and water.

Yeah, I'd go with the oily skin specific products. Personally, I'd avoid the astrigent, as it could dry out your skin and your skin will overcompensate and product even more oil. Specially alcohol based ones. In my opinion you can completely avoid that step.
