Maybe rubbing a toner enriched with salicylic acid would be helpful.
Most likely it is caused by ingrown hairs. using a body scub a few times a week may help. and definitely a spot treatment as needed to speed up the healing process
I was recommending salicyl;ic acid because I used to have small pimples on my arms. But after rubbing Nuetrogena Pore Refining toner on it daily for about two weeks, it made the bumps look a lot more sightly.
Exfoliate! I've found that by doing my whole body regularly, I've obtained smoother skin and, have cut down on everything below:
  • Bumps on butt
  • Alligator skin on legs
  • Dark pores(spots)
  • Ingrown hairs
  • Darkend pits
  • Skin seeming to "drink" moisturizers w/no results
  • Breakouts on back
;
I use a paddle to exfolliate, through trial and error I've learned to how to do my whole body with it ,(-the face, neck). When I want more intensity, I'll use it with a scrub). Be careful because it is possible to over-exfoliate an area. (I travel a lot, and this tool (the paddle) travels well with no-mess-no-fuss and now no-airline hassel; LOL)
i cant freakin exfoliate my own back. it never works, even with a paddle!
anyways, i agree with yorlooksmybiz up there^^^ all of thats true for me too. my sisters are always telling me my skin is so soft, like on my arms, lol.
but for bottom-zits id say spot treatment and a salicylic body wash. its just plain difficult to exfoliate with a loofah down there!

and make sure you wear cotton underwear because synthetics like polyester and other materials can trap heat and sweat and make you acne prone down there! victorias secret has some really great cotton ones in the PINK room.

Wearing only cotton panties has made such a difference on my butt!!! AND I love the VS cotton low rise bikinis. -- You can always get less expensive ones at Target

So I can just use any exfoliating paddle? Does anyone have any recommendations on exfoliating paddles or gloves?
yikes, try Tea tree oil, you can get it at a local health food store
This post is from 2006. Probably the problem has been solved by then!

One of those common things in life we dont want to discuss! For me if I sit around in sweaty clothes after I work out, that's brings 'em on for sure. Get in the shower ASAP and dry thoroughly. Maybe a little cornstarch powder to absorb moisture too. Use a little astringent after you come out of the showe. Can't hurt and will disinfect. For me, they scar forever since I'm so pasty white so once its there, I'm stuck with it for MONTHS. They are usually not actual pimples but raised red bumps. UGH!!

Again, nothing wrong with refreshing a post from the past so someone new may see the info they normally wouldnt search that far back for. Butt pimples haven't been solved yet for sure!!
