Hi,

I've been searching the internet for ages about these wrinkles everywhere on my skin. I started noticing about 3-4 months ago that the normally faint lines on my hands and feet are very VERY pronounced and deep and when I pull the skin on the back of my hands gently and watch it release, it is slow to return, i.e. it doesn't 'snap' back like it's supposed to. Additionally my skin used to peel and was very very dry. The skin on my skin on my legs and arms is not firm and appears shiny dry, cracked and flakey. I don't know if this is related but if I sit cross legged, or bend my elbow or wrists even for a short while the joints begin to ache. That and I have very clicky thumbs.

I believe these are tell-tale signs of premature aging. I've never smoked, I don't drink, never sunbathe let alone swim but I am starting to think that my poor diet, high stress and irregular sleep schedule during university term may be to blame. I have just completed the second year of university, which I found very intense. I pulled MANY allnighters to finish coursework, ate very little and worked constantly thoughout the week.

I apologise if this doesn't sound a very severe problem as it is self inflicted, but it is really taking its toll on me (I am crying as I write this). I have become very depressed I never go out and socialize and don't bother to take care of myself anymore. I take showers and change in the dark and don't even look in mirrors. I'm too embarassed to show my hands in public even. I have lost all of my self- confidence.

I would appreciate any advice on how I can revive my skin,

Thank you very much

It sounds like you already know what to change in you live to stop this development. Sleep, relaxation and a healthy diet is the basis for a healthy skin. Remember that it takes up to 3 months to see a difference on you skin due to changed habits.

To speed up the process of making your skin healthier try the rejuvenating skin care series on IUseOrganics.com
The products literally feeds and nourishes the skin as they are certified to organic food standards.
Try the the rejuvenating mineral mask or the Rejuvenessence Facial Serum .
The products are promoted for facial use but this is just because the face has such delicate skin. The products have just as amazing results on any part of you skin.
Believe it or not, it could very well be the result of not detoxifying your body. We are exposed to so many toxins on a daily basis. Toxins slow our body down and can actually cause premature aging.

I use the SeaSource Detox Spa line by Arbonne. These are amazing products that are pure and safe. They have both internal and external detoxification products. No parabens in these products. The products are sea-derived with seaweed and other marine botanicals. They have a sea salt scrub, face and body mud mask, hair mask, detox hair and body wash, bath sea soak, detox body lotion and body gelee, as well as a 7-day internal dietary supplement.

All Arbonne products are botanically based, pH correct (Notice I didn't say pH balanced? Using a pH balanced product is NOT SAFE for your body), hypoallergenic, not tested on animals, no animal products or by-products, no mineral oil.

These products are very concentrated and will last a very long time. I use some of the products in the SeaSource Detox Spa line on my 8-year-old son as well, especially now that it is summer and he's at summer camp with other kids, exchanging sweat, swimming in pools, etc.

It's VERY important to detoxify your body on a regular basis.

Hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Deanna Byrd-Ferrino

Hi SweetiePea,

Here are some tips on body skin care based on my 25 year knowledge and self experimentation.

There are right and wrong ways to go about the numerous tasks associated with body skin care, from cleaning and moisturizing to exfoliating. By following a simple three step process every day, you can be sure that your skin will remain youthful and exuberant for years to come.

Your Skin Type Affects Body Skin Care
The first thing you must do before starting a new skin care regiment is to be sure of what skin type you have. A simple ‘skin test” will suffice to do so. Wash your face and pat it dry. Then press rice paper or lens-cleaning paper to various spots on your face. The paper will stick to oil and turn translucent. Dry spots will do nothing. If the paper only turns oily in certain areas such as your forehead, nose and chin, this is a sign of combination skin (70% of women have this type).

Step 1 – Cleansing
Find a good cleanser and stay with it. Simplicity is key in this regard. You should be able to match your skin type to a simple cleanser that does not cause the same harsh results as soap. A cleanser is different because it contains more specific ingredients, specifically designed to promote body skin care health. Oil in them dissolves the oil on your face. Surfactants dissolve makeup and dirt and water washes it all away. The true key to finding a cleanser that matches your body skin care needs is in finding the right combination of oil to match your skin type.
There are a number of different recommendations for the use of cleanser. Some recommend twice daily use and some only once a day. The best solution is to match your specific needs to your cleansing schedule. Always wash your face at night before going to bed. If, in the morning your face requires a more thorough cleansing, use a small amount and lukewarm water. Over washing the face can actually cause additional damage.

Step 2 – Exfoliating
Your body skin care routine should include exfoliating at least once a week. Many people skip this step altogether, but it can be as effective if not more so than any other action you take. Your exfoliation options are many fold. A good microdermabrasian kit used once a week is very effective and fairly simple though. Make sure you use a gentle scrub created with small grains. Larger, more direct scrubs can tear your skin and cause damage.

Step 3 – Moisturize
The most important thing you can do for your skin is to moisturize regularly. Without the daily application of moisturizer, your beauty skin care routine will fail. What does moisturizer do that makes it such a universally important addition? It seals in the moisture on your face, keeping it supple over time. The only exception to the rule that you end your body skin care routine with moisturizer is in those individuals with acne – it will only serve to worsen the effects.

Get at least 8 hours of sleep and your wellness/wellbeing is more important than your education. Eat vegetables and fruits and take multi vitamins to fight stress. Drink tea. Have a massage once or three times a month. Drink no less than 8 glasses of water everyday. No sodas please. No junk foods. Just real foods. No white bread but whole grains and drink non fat milk.

Use whitening lotion with sunblock before going out rain or shine. Use face creams on your face with sunblock too. Wear nicer clothes, nice jewelry and think possitive.

All these things are easy to do and costs so much less than any other treatment you get from dermatologists.

Try soaking your body in a bath tub everyday for one to 2 or 3 hours if you have nothing else to do. Use dove soap. Meditate. Exercise.

Don't forget to laugh a lot and listen to nice songs and watch nice movies and travel to nice places...

Seeing something new is invigorating and refreshing...
