Some background.

In high school, I got these dark spots on my foot, shin, and on my hip. all on my left side.

I had a bunch of tests that showed up negative. The doctor ended up saying that it was basically a late forming birthmark.

Then they all went away.

Now, about 10 years later, the spots came back and now basically discolor the entire left half of my left foot. The discoloration has been slowly forming over the last couple of years, and in the last year or so, i have noticed more of a texture change as well as discoloration.

No pain, no swelling. Just color and texture.

I took some photos.

Any ideas about what it could be?

Hi and welcome Apocs, My son has what looks to be the same thing, but darker above his elbow. The doctor said the same thing. My son was born with it, however it disappears for while now and then. Went and saw a dermatologist, he said it was a birthmark as well.... We never got a real answer.

I guess the only reason im posting about it now, is because the texture change is relatively new. The skin is all shiny and wrinkly. almost like there is a thin layer of saranwrap or something on top.
