Just used Estee Lauder Advance Night Repair for 2 times, found skin peeling off on my eye lids this morning.

Really scared! What is it doing to my eyes? Checked the instructions again not much about it... Made an appointment -- before I go to the doctor, still would like to see if anyone know about this symptom ... Thank you,

Yea probably because of skin irritation. Do change to another product if it continues

I think the night repair works by being a chemical exfoliant, see if therer are any glycolic or alpha hydroxy acids in the product, if so that's what's causing the peeling. I would avoid the use around the eyes.

I stopped using that product immediately and was hoping this symptoms get away soon.

I also searched for the ingredients, there is "butylene glycol" & "glycoprotein" --that I am not sure if they are the "glycolic acid" you said in your reply. Still I don't know if there is "alpha hydroxy acids" after combing through ingredients table

Hi Muriel,

I did a little research and found that others have had the problem of an allergic reaction from Estee Lauder's Advance Night Repair. Some symptoms include a rash, puffiness, redness, and peeling.

I also noticed that this product contains Retinyl Palmitate, which can cause peeling in itself, especially on sensitive skin. I would suggest using it only a couple times a week at first to get your skin used to it, then more often as tolerated by your skin.

If however your symptoms are more severe and include puffiness, a rash or severe redness then I would definitely stop using the product.

The peeling will probably stop in a couple of days, just keep any chemicals off of it, to aviod a burning sensation.

If I ever get any peeling or dryness around my eyes, I gently pat a drop of organic rosehip oil around my eyes (using a Q-tip for this is good!) - it may take a couple of days to remedy, but if works for me!

Just don't get any rosehip oil in your eyes or your eyes will be blurry...

I agree that it is probably a reaction of the skin ... try to use more sensitive products!

I've used a sample of this product and after the first use I also had an allergic reaction, so I don't use it anymore, maybe it's too strong for my skin, or maybe my skin doesn't tolerate some ingredients. There are plenty of eye creams that are gentle and don't cause any negative reactions.
