Skin-tightening Adhesive Strips?

A few months ago, my mom saw a product on a shopping network that she wanted to try, but when we went to the shopping network's site, we couldn't find it. Since then, we've tried searching for it though Google and other sites, but we can't seem to find it. I was hoping someone here might know the name of it, where I could find it, or know of a similar product.

The product was basically adhesive strips that you place around your temples or beneath your ears, somewhere near the hairline, which pull the skin upwards and reduce the appearance of sagging skin and wrinkles. If anyone knows anything about this product or a similar one, please let me know!

Hi,

I had a woman ask me recently how I was able to look so young and vibrant. I took it as a compliment as I spend a good amount of time researching and implementing the perfect anti aging skin care regiment.

There are a number of different products on the market that claim to be able to skim years from our skin in only a matter of days. They promise incredible results with minimal effort. Unfortunately, these products and companies are often misleading. Like any other worthwhile endeavor, anti aging skin care takes a bit of hard work and devotion on your part to make succeed. I spent extra hours every week working towards smoothing away developing wrinkles. Trust me, if it was possible to make them disappear overnight, I would have.

Anti Aging Skin Care Ingredients
There are a few known products though that I do use because they have been proven to have anti aging effects. The most effective and best documented supplement I’ve used is retinoic acid. We all know that Vitamin A has a profound effect on our skin health. As a derivative of that vitamin, retinoic acid is able to thicken skin and improve its texture, smoothing out wrinkles in the process. I have found though that many of the products you can buy directly over the counter at your local drug store do not contain nearly enough of the retinoids needed to combat the effects of aging. I have seen some women who respond very well to these low concentration products. However, for most of us, effective anti aging skin care products are best found with our dermatologists. Another product I have used for years, originally to supplement my Vitamin C skin care products is that of Alpha Lipoic Acid or ALA for short. It is a highly effective anti-oxidant that works in tandem with other vitamin supplements to cut off free radical damage to your skin. I have been very pleased with the results of ALA, making it one of my favorite anti aging skin care products. There are plenty of products being released with ALA as it has become a recent phenomenon. Read carefully to make sure the product you buy is high potency.

There are a number of other products claiming to work as anti aging skin care solutions. Though I have not used all of these products, I have carefully followed the research being done and the consensus on their results. CoEnzyme Q 10, the highly hyped natural cell enzyme that many companies are synthesizing for use in their anti aging skin care products has been shown to be quite effective in recent years in prompting your body to produce more collagen and elastin and in fighting free radicals. Vitamin C and Green Tea are other anti-oxidant sources that have proven in recent years to be very effective – Vitamin C treatment being one of my favorite and most carefully applied weekly products.I always recommend at least one solid anti-oxidant be included in you skin care regiment. Ideally, a combination of multiple different products will further protect you from the effects of aging by fighting off those unsightly little free radicals. Be sure to stay away from products that make big claims and do not have the ingredients to back them up though.

Sincerely,

I wouldnt go with an adhesive strip. There are plenty of products out there which work on under-eye problems that are a gel or cream. I'd try those first.

Also, i'd be aware that genetics have to do with the dark undereye circles or puffyness.. if your dad or mom suffers from this, you might have to deal with it.

I wonder who's laughing to the bank having people put pieces of tape on their forehead to pull their skin up...
Hi Umoran,

Would you mind recommending a good high potency ALA product as well as the one a week vitamin C treatments?

Thanks much
This product might be "Frownies" - a product which does not contain any active ingredients. It just smooths out wrinkles while the adhesive strip is in place. The patches are typically applied at bedtime and worn during sleep. The thinking is that the skin gets used to being smoothed-out and will eventually forget to crease when used over the long term. I've been using them for a few months now for the crease in-between my eyes. I think that it has prevented the crease from getting worse, probably because it keeps me from frowning while I sleep, something I've learned not to do while awake. Wearing the patches is effortless so I continue to use them, and I extend their life by using adhesive paper tape (rather than discard them after a single use - hey, it cuts down the cost). I figure that it can't hurt and if it helps, great.

Is this what you are looking for?

Secret Liftâ„¢ Face Lift Tapes - CosmeSearch, Inc.
What are the vitamin c treatments you are referring to?
Thanks
you are looking for Frownies. They work very well for the
"elevens", that is, vertical lines between the eyebrows. You
stick them on the area at bedtime, and they keep you from
frowning at night. (I was astonished when I realized that I
must really frown hard all night, because if I don't wear them
I have deep creases in the morning, usually.) I try to wear them
every night (they are cheap). They are advertised for around
the mouth and other areas, but I don't believe they work well
anywhere else.
Frownies are great for stopping (maybe lessening the 11s between your brow. Spread your 11 out when applying to lift the wrinkle.
I didn't know that about "spreading the 11's out" thanks!!

After reading one of Mirecka's previous posts about this I have started using medical tape on my 11's - at night and during the day if I don't have to go out. It's only been a week, but the lines don't seem quite as deep as they were for a few hours after I take the tape off. It's no miracle, but I plan to keep doing this and see if the results will last longer after a month or more.

You know, we can all laugh about "silly treatments", but if something makes us feel even a little better about a problem area - what the hell! We benefit from self esteem boosts wherever we find them.
I have been using Frownies for a couple years and they do help if your faithful. However this is not what this woman is looking for. The product your Mother saw is clear and used behind the ear to pull extra neck skin tighter without being seen. I wish I could remember what they are called. I will try to find out and return to leave the info.
I found something called Hollywood beauty lift tape that looked like it may work for a price of $9.99 a roll.I did find other iteams but they didn't look like they would work, more expensive and harder to use. I'm still having hotflashes every now and then so I don't know if tape will work for me. I may thve to stick to scarves and turtle necks until I win th Lottery

I use surgical foam tape for the 11's ... it is white ... and thick and I only use it during evening hours ... and does it ever do the job ... when you awaken, your 11's are gone ... and smooth ... I have done this for years and years ... but now I'm with a new love only on weekends ... I don't want to scare him quite yet ... when I was married, well, who cared ... it didn't bother my husband whatsoever ...

LMAO... Libra.. I understand that .
If its these, Secret Lift™ Face Lift Tapes - CosmeSearch, Inc., they don't work very well.
I tried them years ago. They are a rip off. IF you manage to get them in place and actually stick to your skin, the elastic strap part comes undone or you see the tape when the wind blows your hair back away from your hairline. These used to be popular with plastic surgs. to allow their patient to "preview" the improvement they would get from a facelift.

If it was Frownies, tried them too. Used them every night for 3 months faithfully. No change at all. Well, maybe they helped hubby. They say laughter is good for your health....and he'd have a nice, long laugh every time he saw me with them on.

Remember, if it seems to be too good to be true, its usually a scam.
I know this thread is ancient but I just have to comment. Secret Lift tapes work EXACTLY as promised. I just tried them for the first time and they took 7-10 yrs off my face instantly. Totally knocked my socks off. They must have improved the adhesive because I wore them for 13 hours, with liquid and powder makeup. No slippage or peeling edges. I even repositioned them several hours after initial application and they stayed put until removed. Jowls gone. Naso folds lifted. Virtually invisible. Hubby couldnt pick them out from 2 feet away. I had to run his finger over the tape! I cannot praise this product highly enough. I smiled @ my reflection this morning for the first time in a decade. Secret Lift has boosted my self confidence and that's HUGE. My new motto is Don't Leave Home Without It.
