Purple Prairie, I use it every time I go to Hawaii, works like a champ, even worked extremely well in the DR and their sun/weather much more extreme then Hawaii.
Master sunscreen thread? Post what has worked for you in preventing a tan
I think this would help a lot of people because of weather and when I tend to lose the most progress
Everybody can post what has worked for them and prevented tanning. Also if you can post your sun conditions and sunscreens that work well for water sports /activities.
here is my list
Shiseido Babies n children SPF 50+ the most effective ever, but has an intense white cast. brightens your skin.Good if you are NC 20 or lighter
Avene very high protection from europe .. great layered with zinc at the beach , waterproof some white cast
La Roche posey XL anthelios with meroxyl SPF 50+ from Europe not the US one It is amazing. Prevented tanning while I was under the sun on a horse for 45 mins straight no hat very little white cast
Neutrogena for face SPF 70 or so : useless in preventing a tan. US sunscreens don't seem to cut it
Burnout is my go to too as well as the shesido water proof one was amazing!!! Shesido will actually stop a tan burnout will too but only if you spend less than 15 mins in sunlight and stay in the shade!

Yes shiseido is the bomb. Everyone who tries it has never tanned
I started the thread as i am SICK and TIRED of reading review after review of sunscreens (i've read over 3K of them ) and ALL everyone talks about is burn prevention and Never about the tan prevention ability

It looks like Burn Out is still rated highly here? How about Beauty Without Cruelty Vitamin C with Coq10 SPF 17 Facial Lotion https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009ET4V8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=AVM1Z79WGIB6T&psc=1 I currently use Alba Botanica Hawaiian Sunscreen, Green Tea SPF 45 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Alba-Botanica-Hawaiian-Sunscreen-Green/dp/B00CQ7V1JO but considering buying Burn Out or BWC and will appreciate your thoughts.

Awwh hey there :wavey: @Fortunecookie long time no see!! BWC isn't one that will protect you, nothing in it as far as protection goes. As far as Alba Botanic, if you were going to choose any Alba SS, go for the Mineral one (green label) it contains zinc. Its a bit heavy, but is a much better choice then the yellow label which you have linked here.
Are you looking for a body SS or a face SS? or both?

The sucky thing about finding a great physical mineral sunscreen is that when I read or hear someone hyping up about it, I get super excited only to find out it's a measly tiny bottle or package. In which I can use it on my face, neck and maybe exposed chest areas.. but I also need a much bigger bottle for the rest of my body. So I don't know what to do. Is there any really good sunblock out there that has:
1. No (or very minimal) white cast
2. Superior protection against burning AND tanning (that last part is super important!)
3. Is mineral based (no chemicals)
4. Lasts relatively longish
5. Comes in an economical size from my head to my toes

Hi @gymrat , thank you for replying. There's actually a couple of Burnout sunscreens at my local Whole Foods store, so I think I'll give it a shot. I'll respond later on today to see which ones they have, specifically, before I'll ask you and anyone else which one is best for my current situation. If you don't mind, of course!
Regarding Burnout; it has Sorbitan Stearate and Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil that can cause issues for skin with fungal acne. Also Avocado Oil is comedogenic for some skin. I don't have acne so not an issue for me, but the avo oil?
What're your thoughts on Altruist Dermatologist Sunscreen https://www.amazon.co.uk/Altruist-Dermatologist-Sunscreen-SPF-protection/dp/B013NUI4LA
Also, thoughts on Baby Zinc (the Walmart baby physical sunscreen)

The versions I use don't contain either ingredients you mention. I use Face/Body version and Eco version. I've also used the Kids version, but still my favorite is Face/Body and nothing has changed in it, I have a new tube I recently purchased, all is the same. @Fortunecookie
