Hi Katnip,

The eyebags may be due to tiredness and lack of sleep. Try to sleep at least 7-8 hrs daily and drink lots of water.

HTH.
Hmmm you think it is? Cause it seems really bad, if it's lack of sleep shouldn't it be as bad? - Well I sleep at 5am and wake up around 12pm-1pm. I do drink water.

I just dunno what are the cause of these awful bags

Hi Katnip

I have begun developing dark circles and bags under my eyes in the past year. I have tried the Vit K serum which doesn't seem to help. Someone told me it is because of allergies. Maybe you should check that out with your doctor especially since you are way too young to develop them now. Good luck!

I think "allergies" when someone as young as you is having this problem. There are over the counter meds now, like Claritin, that could help until you figure out what you might be allergic too. Pets? Housedust? Dairy food? Wheat?

I have one of those gel masks that look like glasses (somewhat) It secures at the back of your head with a velcro strip to keep in place.
You place in fridge to get cold and put on eyes for about 10-min
sit back and relax- listen to music- this really reduces the swelling and feels good too. Ive also heard cold tea bags will do the same thing and contain caffeine which is good for the eye area. Sliced cucumbers is another solution.

Soak 2 tea bags in water and keep in the frigde. Then apply on both eyes. This should help with the eye bags.
Yeh temporary not pernamently, all the myths like cucumbers and stuff only work for a short time like 1 hour and then lose effect. plus im not talking about bags, im talking the black thing on the bags lol

Do you mean dark circles under your eyes?
Look for a product with the ingredient CHRYSIN in it. Vanilyx Eye Cream is one that I have used with good results at fading the darkness. You do have to use it for at least 4 weeks and thereafter consistently to see them fade. It isn't just something you can use now & then and it doesn't just cover them up. If you google it, you will find places online that sell it.

Bobbi Brown Corrector is a peach colored paste that does a good job of covering them without drying out the area. It's available at Nordstrom's and larger dept stores like that.

I hope you find something to help!

Camomile works great for under eye bags. Try soaking a few camomile tea bags and put those on your eyes. I have used this many many times. Having a son away at college has not only given me bags under my eyes, but wrinkles too!
hope this helps

I agree on the use of the tea bags, if you use chamomile and green tea around your eyes morning and night it might help. They can also be used much like a toner on a cotton ball, or an extract of these herbs can be added to your eye cream.

If you have gone through the list if things aready mentioned; sleep, allergies, food etc. you are already on your way. Stay away from MacDonalds, fast food, and any highly processed foods, at least minimize intake of them for a period. Don't eat sweets every day, and no coke or sodas. This might be the hardest if you are used to white flour, burgers and sweets during the week. Try to drink four-five cups of green tea every day and stay away from coffee for a while. Girls could also try a diet suplement with vitamin K (in a multivitamin is not a bad idea) and check your iron levels. A good thing is to choose a periode for about a month or so, even better three months, where you really stick to your plan. That makes it easier to be motivated and by the end of the period you can valuate the results and see if the action taken are worth the effort.

Light exercise every day is a must, 30 minutes walking, on your bike, with the dog, twice a day or some thing at the gym now and then. This often comes naturally in a normal day, but if you spend a lot of time reading, writing, studying, online,TV....you might have to look at how some light activities can be added to your every day. Just ask a masterstudent or someone writhing a Ph,D how this show up around the eyes (lol).

There are some ingredients that are efficient enough for dark circles under the eyes to be worth trying in a eye cream. They tend to be rather expensive, but luckily there are very good products available that are in the afordable price range. If you want the best ingredients and not at a high end price try some of the do-it-your-self skin care sites on the web. This is my best discovery the last two years, and it makes it possible for me to try the most efficient ingredents in all the popular brands.

One of these ingredients is called Hesperidin Methyl Chalcone, it is extracted from lemon peel and works by streangthening the fine capillaries in the eye area. The reason for dark circles under the eyes is because red blood cells get trapped in the fluid between the cell and this will streangthen capillaries so that they don't leak red blood cells. When the body brakes down these blood cells the biproduct leaks out to the surrouning tissue and discolors the thin skin under the eyes. This is also much the same way vitamin K is supposed to work.

Another important ingredient for this problem is Chrysin (fawnie mentioned this one). Chrysin helps activate an enzyme that speeds up the brake down process of the red blood cells and their biproducts.

Hesperidin Methyl Chalcone, vitamin K and Chrystin are really effective to target this problem. Together with certain peptides (sort of "pre-proteins" ) these ingredients has showed to lighten and even remove the darkest of circles in the eye area. Hyaluronic acid asists in this process too.

However this is not the only possible reason for dark circles in the eye area. It is possible that the pigmentation production in the skin is overly active and cause the dark coloring. The mentioned ingredients Hesperidin Methyl Chalcone, Vitamin K, and Chrysin will not help this problem. Then different ingredients are needed. Liquorice extract, vitamin c, alpha lipoic acid, green tea extract, Niacinamide (vitamin B) are some well worth trying in a cream.

Dark circles under the eyes are often hereditary, just look at your mother, father, siblings, aunts and uncles. Dark circles are very common, all most every body has them from time to time, extremly dark and cronic circles are less common at least in young people. Do not despair over this, they are most likely not as bad as you think, and there are very likely something that will help you. It is a sort of thing that can take a bit of trial and error before you find some thing that works for you. Often it is just a few simple tricks that when combined will resolve the problem.

Great response!!
Getting back to under eye bags.
Like someone said all of the methods for under eye bags are for temporary
solutions.
I think for a permanent solution, you might need to see dermatologist or even plastic surgeon who advise better if liposuction is needed.
I could be fat??? And not water.!!
Getting professional advise might be your only alternative to "quick" fixes.

There are several measures one can take in order to get rid of puffy eyes and reduce the symptoms related to this common beauty problem.

This skin care nuisance adds years to your face and tends to create the impression of fatigue.

First, the best way to get rid of puffy eye is to address the underlying roots of the problem.and then look for the solution. More info thru profile. Good luck

Hi Katnip,
i hear your concern. first i would get a complete doctor's check up. it might be something inside your body that needs to fixed and eliminates puffiness by itself. if this is not a case, call bionova counter at barneys 212-833-2656 and they help to pick up the eye product for you. my friend uses for puffiness ( i use plain wrinkle) and is extremely happy with it.

IlunNY,
i became a customer as soon as they entered barneys. since then, i have stopped searching. the product ingredients replicate the ingredients existing in our skin. their customization makes sense since each part of our face has different combination, quantity and sequence of the ingredients. you can tell it by our skin density. e.g. frown differs from eye area and etc. names of products are very specific. when you apply the product that is designed for this particular skin part, the skin recognizes the ingredients and takes only what it needs to restore and to self heal. the rest is peacefully discarded. that is why the results are amazing. i share the knowledge that came from many years of experience.
in terms of nano – they are using the same quantities. i was explained that the technology behind the brand allows weighing up these ingredients without changing the chemical activity that eliminates any danger. it is the best skin treatment ever (at least for me)! since you are not happy with any brand try bionova and see for yourself. you get the best service at their counter. all knowledge i have came from them.

Pacifist i had a look at there website and even though i am impressed with what they are trying to do i have to say from looking at the ingrendient list i cant see that there may be enough active ingrendients in the eye cream for me to see any improvement, it seems like a great idea, but however it is an expensive product and may be if there were not so many ingrendients in it would of been for me! Thanks anyway

I know it is confusing! I had the same reaction when I saw the list of ingredients for the first time! Of course, I have addressed this question to a sales representative and also went on their website to learn more afterwards.
Here the point: the quantity of ingredients reflects the same quantity found in our cells. I think it is amazing and explains the long list.
It is pricey but little goes long way and results are amazing.
