Hey guys.

I been using vitamin c serum for the last 5 days and and so far I've lightened about 2 shades in skin color! Not even hydroquione and other expensive creams have been able to give me the results im getting right now so im feeling static about it. I didnt think it would work but then I read that Vit C reduces melanin and it was highly recommended in Essential Spa forums so I had to give it a try. But its just not the shade its giving me.. its also making my skin supple and smooth everytime i look in the mirror it looks luminious and glowing. Oh, im a love!

HonB,

I am using skinceuticals 20% vit C serum. Its the highest dose the have, and I wanted a high % because my skin can take almost anything and its stubborn when it comes to lightening. I've never tried the powder stuff, but I would think a profesional serum would give better results since they have it highly concentrated for better results.

Congrats..

Wow that stuff is expensive though1
You're right, Goldenfire. And now that I'm half way through my vile, I looked at the web and there ARE cheaper brands out there, but whether they deliver the same results Im getting - I dont know. I chose skinceuticals because the girls at EDS recommended it. And I sure trust those girls

I did read on another lighteningn forum that people are seeing results with The Body Shop's Vit C serum. I think it's called "Moisture White." You may want to look into that. It's a lot cheaper (like 30 bucks) and can be found at your nearest BodyShop.

I make my own L-ascorbic acid. You can buy the powder from Skin Actives or I think the Personal Formulator has it. I just put some of the powder in the palm of my hand, add a few drops of distilled water to it, rub your palms together and put it on your face and neck. I do this every day for three days and two off. Otherwise it my make your skin raw.

I know of an amazing vitamin C serum and it's from a berry that grows in the Amazon rainforest...anyway, this berry has the highest concentration of naturally occuring Vit C in the world. Let me know if you are interested in learning more about it......

Ascorbic Acid is NOT true Vitamin C!!!! It's all the extra Bioflavanoids that help it work! Avalon has an entire line of Vitamin C products, including a body lotion, but the C content is low. I like Zia's Ultimate C serum, or Mychelle's, both have all kinds of other supportive ingredients, and if you are used to buying name brands, they won't break your bank.

Ascorbic Acid is NOT true vitamin C???? Yea right. Do some research.
It's the form most used in all the studies that actually show results.

I recently started using the Vit C serum (15%) from Garden of Wisdom. I really like it so far. I never used any Vit C serum at all prior to trying a sample from GoW, so I don't have any comparisons. However, my skin can be sensitive and this did not break me out or cause redness or other irritations.
