Allie, I think that the question you should be asking is what side-effects does Retin-A have. Of course, it will work; it's a proven drug, but at what cost?

Depression, dry skin, sun sensitivity, amongst a list of other things. You have to ask yourself, is it worth it? I doubt that at 29 you'll need something that harsh anyways. You should start with a basic skin care regimen and go from there.
