Okay ladies I have really been rethinking my whole skin care and make up lately and I'm begining to wonder whether or not the problem is with me and not my skin care or make up at all. What I mean is I have been wearing NO make up at all since my terrible reaction w/Eminence skin care (which is a great product just not for me) which is approximately 1 1/2 weeks. I keep having cystic acne breakouts on my chin and around my nose (ooooh they hurt). To top it off I am using an organic skin care line that is really all natural. The skin care hasn't caused any reaction at all since I began using it about 2 months ago. So can anyone tell me what is up with that? Could it be me and my body? I am so frustraded w/all of this. I want to wear my MMU and look pretty for my own self esteem. I hate always being broken out, or clearing up an allergy, or not being able to wear make up b/c I'll break out again. Can anyone give me some encouraging thoughts?

Actually....I too had this happen in the past. It could be hormonal...depending on your age...if the mid-life thing is coming near...your hormones can really reak havoc! I went to a specialist and they got me adjusted. I mean I'm only 34...but that mid-life thing already is affecting my hormones!

The other thing was I had an infection, you just may have something that your body is fighting that you dont' know about....heck even getting on an antibiotic for acne...can help rid the cystic acne (that's what I had to do...with great results in the past).

I totally feel your anger/pain/frustration...been there, done that. But maybe go talk with a doctor and ask about hormones or testing or adjustment options....or heck even an antibiotic to kick that bad out of your system.

You should try going 1 week without using ANY skin care products & makeup (except maybe a mild cleanser). I know its hard, but it will really tell you if its your skin or what you are putting on it.

Maybe try it during a week where you will be mostly at home.

oh and just because a product is natural, does not mean its good for your skin!

Thanks so much for all of your support. There is actually a skincare line called Doux Me (Douxme___________________________) which is very high maintenance. It has to be kept refrigerated at all times so traveling with it not in a cooler is not an option I guess. I actually got talked out of purchasing it mainly because of it needing such special care. It also cannot be used if your going to be exposed to prolonged sunlight so forget running errands. It tells you right on their sight that you may get a reaction from it if you're exposed too long. All of you are so great thanks again.

DEFInitely cystic acne is ONLY caused by hormones and can ONLY be cured by time and antibiotics. for that you should see a dermatologist.

jane iredale is a good mineral makeup brand that has a 99% chance of NOT making your skin irritated or broken out. i know this because my sister has excezma and is extremely sensitive to every makeup ever but this JANE IREDALE is perfect and she has no side effects.

if you feel like the skincare line you are using is working and not hurting you, go ahead and keep using it. but like someone up there said, natural does not mean non-irritating.

anyways, my biggest hope is that you go see a dermatologist. and try Jane Iredale. i have been using jane iredale for 5 years. you can read all about their stuff here: Jane Iredale Mineral Cosmetics - The Skin Care Makeup - All Natural Micronized Minerals - Our Philosophy and Our Mission
