Why is it that...

So many of you seem to know a lot about skin lightening, but there is never any doumented proof of progress; or that such a thing is even possible with certain products, home-made or purchased.
If you have seen results with whatever you're using, then POST pictures! What good is it to say that such and such works when there is no proof?

Don't tell me that ______ skin lightening cream works because the before and after pics on the site prove it so. Those pictures are blatantly and pathetically photoshopped so that desperate individuals can be lured sadly into buying the product.

this may seem hard to understand but the reason why we have a forum is because we dont know for sure what works. people may claim they have results but you cant take that too seriousely until they show pictures to prove it. some people claim that they went up 1 or 2/3 shades but there is no set measure to help decide what is a shade. some products takes several months to work and unfortunately very few people will return to update their progress, especially if they didnt see results and abandon their efforts. very very few people bother to take B/A. it would seem to be a great way to accurately gauge results but i guess some people cant be bothered with it. also some people dont want to post pics of themselves on the internet and for the most part, skin lightening (especially trying to lighten the complexion) is very difficult. there is no product that we know of that is guaranteed to work for sure. so the best you can do is do your own homework so you can make an informed decision on what to try. just wing it, be your own guineapig and try the product yourself or you can wait and hope for someone to be kind and brave enough to post their results with pictures. thats the best you will be able to get on any forum. the yahoo group "brighterskin" has a picture section with very interesting photos. also the exboard group brightskin forum has a few members who post pics. its kinda hard to figure out who has pics because members have their own personal gallary (some people use their gallary some dont) but you can open a thread and ask members to list people who submitted pictures.

Thankyou for your reply HonEB. It's not that i'm irritated or something, but I just truly wonder why there are no documented images of a person's skin lightening journey.
You say there are yahoo groups so I will look into that. Really though, I'm quite curious. About the possibility of lightening my own skin as well as seeing the effects of certain products on other people.
So far, I have only ever purchased two products by the brand 'Sewame'. One is a whitening mask and the other was a whitening face wash. Both of which did nothing to my skin! I find that going for the dangerous 'hydroquinone' is the best option for me. In a 4% complex most likely, I would like to buy it. Problem is I don't see it anywhere! So the chances of me getting the product is slim.
I agree. I wish that people showed pictures. I'm scared to buy something because I don't know if it really works.

Also, some advertisers come here and try to market their products while pretending to be a fellow poster
Yes it is frustrating. I've seen people on here claiming that they've been lightening for years and have had great success but still no pictures. Even if they don't show all their face a picture would still be nice

Adonis you can't say people never put B/A pics. Some do, some not. We don't need to do it because this is a forum for sharing information. I put my B/A pics and I show my face but some people are afraid to do and we have to understand. They have family, some don't know they are lightening the skin.
Most of people that complain about "no pics" don't show their face as well.
We are not forcing people to buy stuff, we are not sellers here (most of us at least).
We are sharing information.
what worked for me doesn't work for most of people here because they use the stuff and after a week give up "because they are not lightening". well took me 1 year to reach my goal, nothing safe can give you results in a week or a month.
Still, I am not saying people have to do what I did, because every skin is different.
Do your research and try to find what work for you. You can have hundres of pics showing some regimem results and you can use and don't have the same results. This doesn't mean all the people are lying, just show that people are different, and we react differently even using the same products.

Seriously!!
They are not forcing you to use products and certainly they are not gaining anything by suggesting them.

LOL people have to stop bumping old threads.
Second time I answer some old thread thinking is new.
I have to learn to look at the OP date not the last post date.
Sorry but some people get mad when someone ask a question that has already been answered in a previous thread. I'm trying to read as many as I can so I won't have to ask questions.
