Could be the RA has made you more reactive to the sun???

 

......or the heat cuz I'm not necessarily in the sun.....isn't it odd though?

 

Not really "odd"....I get red in the heat too and avoid it like the plague! Do you drink lots of fluids and stay in the shade as much as possible?

 

Yes I hate the sun as crazy as that sounds but I truly try to stay out of it. I get really red!
When I deliver mail I always carry a gallon of water and ice. The other carriers look at me like I'm nuts! I have to continually throw something ice cold around my neck so I donâ€2122t burst into flames.......so it feels.
Maybe I should see a doctor, however I feel totally healthy otherwise

Have you tried something like this, unique? I have one and it really is like wearing your own air conditioner! Yu soak it in cold water until the beads swell up and become like a jelly inside the tube of cloth. Then tie it loosely around your neck. It chills those jugular veins good!!

Yes Fawnie I do have one of those bandana type gelled filled scarves and I love it! I actually soak it in a bucket of ice water prior to tieing it around my neck and it's great for about 10 minutes~A great invention! It sounds like you do experience the same thing as I so I dont feel totally abnormal

 

facial flushing when I am in the heat is a given, even if it's only 70 degrees!!! I turn as red as a tomato. I don't know what it is with some people they just don't understand and always want to ask you a million questions when they see you with a red face-

"oh my gosh, um, your face, um, is REALLY, um RED" I always answer back, very matter of fact, oh really is it? that's because I'm HOT!!!

Unique, try chewing on a cup of ice and see if it helps you. Sometimes it helps me, sometimes it doesn't.

 

I have noticed the past couple of years or so mine has done this also.
Takes hours for it to cool down!??! Took a kickboxing class and I was red faced for eva. Redder than after a peel? I just add a little more concealer and go with it.

 

have a physical checkup first. it is not odd. when i get overheated even if i am not doing anything physical my neck and face get red. i don't like heat. i am hot blooded anyway. i can be hot when everyone else is cold. no it is not menapause. i have been this way my whole life. i said to get a check up because i know when i get hot my heart beats faster. i have high blood pressure and it is under control with medication but it doesn't hurt to have a physical any way. my face gets red when i get hot anyway even if my blood pressure isn't elevated.

 

I had a stress test for my heart and had my blood pressure checked etc....and everything came out good.
I am curious if a dermatologist is the type of doctor that I need.
The more I read all of your post this is not so unusual which makes me feel a little better.
I am also wondering if chemical peels back in the day could be a contribution but that was fifteen years ago!!!

I think some ppl are just more "reactive" to heat than others...capillaries closer to the surface? Or spicy foods maybe.
