Hi,

I just thought i'd create a go-to thread for creams that are or rumoured to contain steroids. Sorry if its been posted before (can you point me to a thread), maybe we could make this a sticky?

According to what I've heard/seen these products contain them:

L'abidjanaise Carrot Cream & Cocoa Butter Tubes
Neoprosone Forte Gel

Any others that you know about?

Tell-tale signs of use include stretch marks/veins/thinning. Can't be sure though. This is not product bashing I just want this to be a knowledgeable thread that members can go to/discuss without having to trawl through hundreds of pages of different threads. I do not want this thread to just be about Megatoner there's enough of them already.

What? Carolight tub doesnt contain steroids? I thought it was some of the tubes which they state it right on the tubes. And I thought it was the same for the labidjanaise tub. The tub and lotion only contain hq, the little tubes contain steroids which is stated right on the tubes

Great thread, although we have tons, but i think we can make this a sticky..

I posted some links on seynats thread but i'll post here again...

Yup we should all know the risks of using steroids, now im not the Steroid Police but were adults here and if we do use, you should use at your own risk..but please be educated and know your risks...I know mines, do you know yours? Do your research before attempting steroid use and always have your Derm on standby...i recently went to my Derm and he told to hard facts about steroids use if abused and used long term... but he than prescribed me some after the session...LMAO...but im gonna use it SHORT TERM...now that word is not to be taken lightly...my Derm's short term is 4-5weeks....

Know your info guy!!!

Yes, I am confused, i know although the box says it only 2% HQ, it was tested to have more around 4% but does it have steriods, i just looked at a list that was posted from 3 different sources and carowhite wasn't on any of them for having steriods can we find the sources that says it does contain steriods.

I used the Caro Light/Caro White cream on my face twice a day for a week and a half and it got rid of my permatan on almost 75% by lightening 3 shades. However, my face was about to become too "pink" underneath so I am slowing down the usage to once every 3 days until my face actually matches the color of my chest. Mind you, this is face only. The body may be harder to fade due to thicker skin.

If using this on your face, you need to be careful to use it less than two weeks, or your face will be extremely lighter than your body where people will be suspicious.

I am now using the Caro Light/White Oil on my tough extremely dark spots like elbows, since I am assuming that the oil is stronger than cream. I am applying 20% lactic acid on first, keep on skin, wait 10 minutes then apply the oil. If this is successful in lightening up by November 1st, then I might use the oil on my knuckles and aereolas.

By the way, what I mean by "too pink" was that this cream is strong enough to remove a lot of brown in my skin. If given me another week, I would go from dark chocolate with blue-red undertones to a caramel with pink undertones. I wasn't going for the pink undertones since my natural (non-permatan skin color would be a "dark" caramel with warm yellow undertones...kind of. I am still blue-red, but I am a yellowish blue-red....hard to explain, so let me shut up.

No wrong its best not to use steroids at all, steroids are not meant for skin lightening.

It is very potent medication that is prescibed for skin conditions by a doctor and one of the side effects is skin lightening.

Kordaine please dont even consider it, it will ruin your lovely skin.

The problem with using steriods is not using it for 2 weeks and stopping, its the fact that it lightens the skin fast and when you stop using the steroids you get darker than your original color. Trying to maintain the skintone from steriod use is difficult you may have to use a very high % of hq in order to stay light and this still might not work so guess what happens? in order to stay light the steriod is used again and again until it becames an addiction. It is at this point that side effects now begin to show.

We are all adults and we are entitled to our own chooses but its best to be well informed about steriods before using it so that one can make an informed decision.
Steriods can cause damage to the skin and the immune system so its best that on knows what they are getting themselves into.
I would not equate steriods with amlactin or retiniod the damage caused from steriods tops anything that those others can cause just because the steriods can be got without a prescrition does not mean it can be used safely.
We all lighten our skin at our own risk so its best to make informed choices.
