Haha, to be honest I don't know, I've only ever used regular ones like Garnier in the past. I just ordered one (basically the cheapest I could find of some recommended ones from a list I found online; I figured I'd start cheap while I'm not sure and maybe branch out later when I know a little more and actually have some more money!) so when it gets here I'll try it out. Coming all the way from Japan so might take a while lol. It's this one:

And a list of the ingredients (pulled from the link above, which says it pulled them from cosmetic-ingredients.net):

Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Zinc Oxide, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Triethylhexanoin, Alcohol, Silica, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Lauryl PEG-9 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone, Acrylates/Polytrimethyl Siloxymethacrylate Copolymer, Dimethicone/Methicone Copolymer, Vinyl Dimethicone/Lauryl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Disodium EDTA

Zinc oxide is good, right? Someone else on that list said it had titanium oxide but I don't see it in the list, unless it's under a different name...
The thing that's so annoying about these asian sunscreens is that they don't have the percentages of the actives, so how are we to know if there is a sufficient amount or not?

Hmm... I guess you're right, but I always go by the SPF value and PPA. By the same token, I can pretty much tell whether a sunscreen is working or not by the colour of my skin after I've been outside... I look a little bit unwashed if it hasn't worked properly, but I look clean and the same colour as I was before if it's blocked out the sun. I can tan quite strongly in 5mins if the sun's bright enough so it's pretty obvious for me

Yes, zinc oxide is the most important ingredient. However, its other things that you may want to be careful of, as they may interact with other products you may be using. Physical sunblocks are best, and there are a couple available that don't leave the white cast to the skin.
I don't use sunscreen with anything else - presently I have my retin A mixed in with my HQ, and that goes on in the afternoon or evening when I'm not going out. So in the mornings if I'm going somewhere the sunscreen just goes on fresh skin

I'm pretty sure somewhere in those reviews it said that after 10-15mins, which you should be waiting anyway, the greasy feeling and white cast just go away with this one. Must try it out for myself!

ah Vitamin C powder!?
so this one from hollandandbarrett says its for "people who can't swallow"
so would using any other brand be alright? if I go to a pharmacy and ask for Vit C powder I mean..
cause I'm not sure this kinda thing will be allowed in my country, to be shipped I mean.

Cool, thanks for the information. It sounds pretty straight forward. I don't go out a lot during the day, since I'm a FT Grad student, so this may be more along the lines of what I need. I feel that most of the others are geared at people who are very active and on the go.

Toffee and Ondine have both done great posts about Carotein. And Jermsthelightersideoflife did an extensive G&G challenge. There is too much to say about both to accurately answer your question. The search engine here is priceless.

Yes i understand but could you give me your point about it please? Im Ã* newbie
she cant give you her opinion on something she didnt use, which is why she's referring you to the posts you should be reading. You need to read the details of the posts yourself.

Being a newbie means doing extensive search on the forum to catch up with everyone.

Hey there, SoNatural is right, I've not used Carotein yet. Mine is still in the mail. But, I chose to purchase mine based upon the aforementioned posts. I'm sorry that I cannot offer more insight. Though the older posts are usually spot on, and worth reading.

I recommend avoiding chemical products, as now over 200 diseases are linked directly with chem products.
This is a very generic, provocative statement. I would urge people to do their research on each ingredient they plan to use, as many times the "hype" about an ingredient gets way out of line with the actual evidence of it's effectiveness and safety.

And then their is the problem with defining "natural." Does it mean only using ingredients that occur naturally in our environment with no processing at all? If so, people would not be able to use soap of any kind, even "natural" soap made with olive oil and lye because lye is manufactured in a lab. Would you also recommend against using distilled water in our DIY creations because it has been artificially prepared in a lab. Almost everything is a chemical.

Do you see the silly slipperly slope created by this argument? It is up to individuals to do their research to determine which chemicals they will use.

I have a question: Is it okay to still use a vitamin C serum after a LAA peel? I'm conserned because both of them exfoliate the skin and I'm afraid that it maybe too much exfolitation or may cause irritation.
Also I just started using a DIY vitamin C serum and I have noticed some small red bumps nothing dramatic though. Is this normal due to a purging process or is this irritation and a sign I need to stop using it as often or altogether? I tried to find something on these subjects but didnt find anything except that some people break out due to purging or may need to drop the percentage down .
