I would like to try making my own facial oil with my favourite oils, but there are about 8 that I would like to include! Is it best to stick to just two or three? How many oils do you use in your own recipes?

I normally stick to 4, 5 at the most, but if you find 8 that you want to mix together go for it. I mix a hair oil that has 8 or more, and it works great for me. I also don't always put equal parts of each oil. I will mix it up a bit depending on which oil it is.
Thanks for the replies, I will need to decide on the final mix and then do some research on the quantities I will need! I'm glad that 8 is not considered too much, so many lovely oils out there!
i have about 3-4 oils i want to try together but do you put these on at night or during the day? I would think at night so youre not so oily going to work etc...Do you keep them on or wash them off after 30 min or so? Thanks
I normally will apply my oils at night. Every so often I will apply then during the day, it really just depends. If I am just hanging out at home during the day, then yes, I will use my oils. If I am going out then I my sunscreen and save oils for the PM. And no I don't wash them off.
I also mix up several different oils once a week for my hair, sleep with it over night, and wash it out the next day.
I always apply my oils to damp skin (I use a hydrosol spritzer). I use at morning and night. The application of oils to damp skin helps the oils absorb into the skin more quickly.
I'm a big fan of the more is more approach to life! I just made one that has pretty much some of every oil I own, somewhere around 12 with a few drops of sandalwood E/O to top it off. Turned out amazing!
Go for it! Life rewards those who dare
Plus....its oils, you can't really go wrong. Have fun mixing it up!
Some of my products have only a few oils, and some have 8-9 oils. For my own skin, sometimes I will use mixes of oils, other times I will use a single oil.
It depends on what oil it is, and also if it needs to be diluted or not (most can be used straight but there are a few that need to be used diluted).
I think as long as you are familiar with the minimum and maximum concentrations of each oil, you should be fine.
Cheers,
Li
