a question - is this lightening product tenique for freckled skin, will it make my face one color or would i be crazy pale with freckles? I am unsure if this is a product for darker skin? although I am unclear why someone with dark skin would want lighter as dark skin is soooo beautiful and rich looking. Anyway a question from a newbie whom is obviously freckled.

O.k thanks I have been using blanche by neocutis started on Oct.! and am waiting for an R.A to arrive, I ordered the .025% gel to start. And am having a series of fractional lasers, the first one was 1 month ago, the second will be on Monday. I am glad to heat freckles will fade with ra/hq, hopefully the lasers will help am using a sunscreen everyday too which is new as of Oct. 1st. Do you have a favorite

ok so im on my fourth day of using tonique...still no lightening.I guessing the 3-5 days only applies to some people...though im sticking it out, im aware its still very early days. the dryness is pretty bad tho...especially around my mouth and nose area. no break out at all thought which is good. looking froward to hopefully seeing some results soon

I ordered the 10x, I'm going to be using it on my arms. I'm naturally dark skinned but I have a ridiculous looking farmers tan. I just want my arms to be the same color as the rest of my body. Anyways, I will take multiple before and after pictures. This way some of the other dark skinned people out there can gauge it's effectiveness, because no offense, but a lot of these whitening products are a lot more effective on naturally lighter skinned people.

Well...I took the plunge! I just ordered Tonique! I must say I'm very excited & I'm anticipating great resulrs (important to be optimistic). Since delivery ought to be quick from there to here, I'm stopping RA as of tonight so my skin will be less sensitized. Perhaps that led, in part to m difficulties with F&F. I already like this stuff better: not only is it much less costly for the same qty & very similar ingredients, the shipping charge was 50% < what I paid at F&F (more affordable).

KarenanneV, if you're out there listening, once you're on the tail end of the F&D, you may want to switch to this stuff: the composition is similar so you'll tolerate it well, but the savings are significant >$75 in my case. Think it over!

I am going to go ahead and order the 10X Tonique gel (after reading the various threads) and will let you know of my progress. I have stubborn pigmentation and have had IPL with some small improvement. But to be honest I think I would need to get 10 treatments in order to see results. I have caucasian skin with splotchy pigment marks ( old acne marks) so I will see how the Tonique goes.

Tonique cliams to have more sepiwhite than Fair and Flawless aren't you afraid of "thinning"? Did you order the cream or the gel?

Nikkicute, Sepiwhite doesnt thin the skin, its those strong acids in the F&F 5xf formula that some people cant tolerate, Tonique doesnt have as much acids except the basics of high Lactic and Glycolic but compensates for it by having 10% sepiwhite.

Actually, I'm not anymore, The SW doesn't cause thinning. When I experimented with it, I didn't get thinning. I can alternate every other night with RA to keep my collagen levels up to par. I will report regularly as to any progress or challenges & use the entire package this time (unlesss something really untoward happens).

Hi Ondine, I am here

. Sorry I haven't been around much in the last few days. Just two nights out, a whole day out of town on the weekend and I'm still trying to catch up with all the posts.

Well, yesterday I ordered my Tonique ceam! Hopefully it will work for me as well as the F&F gel. I'm just scared of waking up every morning and seeing my face melted away. I've had a couple of little pits happening from the gel which makes me realise it probably really shouldn't be used for the face. Way to many acids and just too strong. The thing is, RA did that to me too, only even worse, so maybe that's just my skin? Anyway, I think I'll feel much safer knowing I'm using something that is designed and safe for the face.

Having said all that, my whole face in general looks so much better and smoother, despite one or two areas, so I'm almost scared to switch to something else! I may alternate F&F with the Tonique.

I'll keep you all posted, of couse!

Thanks for the update, Karen! I was wondering what was up with you. The Tonique cream will likely be more gentle than the gel. THis is what the Tonique company told me when I emailed them. They were very helpful. Apparently, sensitive skins tend to take better to cream formulations. This is also true of RA. The Neo Strata HQ+ (also contained 5% GA) gel I used back in Jan absorbed like crazy & worked very well but I'd bet my hat that a sensitive skinned person would've been irritatrd by it. Are you lightening up nicely still?

If thats the case then what about people who have been using HQ 10% all this time like Ninasky along with glycolic and other exfoliants? wouldnt that be harmful as well? I tested it for mercury, steroids, and arsenic, it came out negative, so it cant be that.

I called Seppic @ (973) 882-5597 and spoke with Stephanie to inquire about all of the ingredients that Tonique uses. She informed me that that combination of active ingredients didn't make sense, she also checked to see if Tonique was on Seppic's list of authorized manufacturers. She then said that she had received a phone call from someone last week inquiring about the same combination of active ingredients and when she quoted the cost of the ingredients the caller commented that it was too costly and would have to get back to her. Stephanie further explained that they sent the caller a small free sample for testing of their Sepiwhite MSH powder. At this point in our conversation Stephanie went to the Tonique website herself to review the ingredient list and truly could not make any sense of it, saying that it was "impossible and would be very harmful to any human skin for those ingredients to be used at a concentration of 10%". She then transferred me to her supervisor, he was very concerned about this and stated that the formulation listed on the Tonique site was in fact impossible and that they are not authorized to use or list Seppic's ingredients.

In conclusion, from both my own research and confirmation from the manufacturer of the active ingredients, Tonique products do not contain Sepi-white or any other ingredient from Seppic that they list on their site. Both the supervisor and the rep from Seppic whom I spoke with were extremely concerned about the mis-representation of their ingredients. There are so many products on the market today claiming to have natural active ingredients that offer risk free skin lightening formulas, we as the consumers must be vigilant in protecting ourselves especially our skin.

If you would like to verify these findings as I have, feel free to contact Seppic @ (973) 882-5597, ask for Stephanie and she will reiterate what I've shared with you.

Thank you for reading.

Ducanan I am always very skeptical of newbies who come on to a forum just to give "information". If the products have been tested by a trusted forum member and have proven not to be harmful and it works what kind of "beef" can you have with the product? Why would you only do that with Tonique and not with other Sepiwhite products like Fair and Flawless. It just doesn't make sense. It sounds like the products work so well that other people or COMPANIES may be trying to say negative things in order to get people not to try and like it. One thing I will say is there is a long standing beef between Tonique and Fair and Flawless so it kind of makes you wonder. Hmmmmmm....

I have seen it, why would they do that unless they have an alterior motive? Have you seen that Fair and Flawless recently lowered their prices for a "limited time only"? This is obviously a ploy by someone to put Tonique out of business because it works and maybe they're losing business? I don't know but, if it works why would anyone stop using it? What they're trying to do is juvenile and stupid.
